Introduction

Labeling rubber tires is considered the "Everest" of the self-adhesive industry. Tires have rough, uneven treads, tiny rubber "hairs" (vent spews), and surface waxes that repel standard glues. Our Tire Grade Label Material is engineered to conquer this.

We use an ultra-aggressive, high-coat-weight Hot Melt adhesive designed to flow into the deep texture of the tire tread. Furthermore, for our paper-faced tire stock, we often incorporate a "Barrier Layer" (aluminum foil) between the paper and the glue to prevent tire chemicals (sulphur) from migrating up and staining the label yellow.

    Material Structure

    Heavy duty construction:

    1. Face: PP or Art Paper.
    2. Barrier (Optional): Foil layer to stop migration.
    3. Adhesive: Thick layer of soft, tacky rubber glue.
    4. Liner: Siliconized Glassine (often heavier grade).
